“Fitness Should be an Important Tactic to your Business Growth Strategies. Here’s Why…”
I’m sure some of you read the title to this post, rolled your eyes and mumbled “what the fuck does this mean”. And I get it. But hear me out! This makes sense, I promise.
The other day I was *overthinking everything* and asked the question, what makes me different in my online space? What do I bring to the Instagram table that other people don’t? What makes me a unique website designer trying to stand out in this saturated industry of website design?
I decided to dig a little bit deeper and really hype myself up because, well, that’s the only way to figure it out, right? And the biggest thing that stuck out to me was my passion for fitness, nutrition and overall well-being.
Before I started my website design business I went to college for Exercise Science and had a full time job of personal training. I mean, I loved it. I was always passionate about keeping exercise at the of my to do list amongst the tons of other things I had/have to do. Not only does it make me feel good but it makes me feel confident in the things I wear, what I see in the mirror, my health, etc etc.
And what I realized is that a lot of people, regardless of working a 9-5 or are running their own business, overlook this as something that should be prioritized. Which, I GET. Trust me, waking up at 6am to move things around or after a long day of work? Gag. Or after a long day of dealing with your annoying co-worker Shelly and needing to get your sweat on? Gag x2.
But the crazy thing is, if you’re able to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity in a day? Then your co-worker Shelly might not be seen as the annoying person she is.
And what does that mean?
Well, research shows that “the vast majority of Americans don’t meet federal guidelines for at least 2.5 hours a week of moderate activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity. Rather, they sit a lot. The average adult spends 6.4 hours a day seated.”
When you’re sitting throughout most of the day and don’t get in the proper amount of physical activity you’re more likely to be:
BUT: if you plan your exercise accordingly and stay consistent with it, you’re more likely to:
And so I’m sure you’re reading this thinking
“I don’t have any equipment”
“I don’t have time”
“I don’t know where to start”
But I think if we were to see how much time goes to mindless scrolling on Instagram, or watching random youtube videos, or TV shows, you would realize you absolutely do have 30 minutes to carve out.
And that there’s an abundance of places on the internet to find workouts that are suited to you.
And I’ll let you in on a little secret…..”as soon as you start and make it a habit, you’ll never go back.”
And I think the final question to ask yourself is, if you could add something into your day that will help you perform better during your work days, give your client’s a better version of you and can keep you healthy and happy, wouldn’t you do it?
Really let that sink in.
So the next time you wanna head to TikTok and scroll for an hour, think about what you could be doing instead to help make your day better *cough cough* exercise.
